  1. Unique Pick should come from the pool of Smash picks and not be awarded for a Forced pick. If no winner then money carries forward to following week. This change could impact strategy in an interesting way.

  2. I disagree for the following reasons, particularly since the league is still run manually.

    1) It's impossible for me to determine whether a pick is Force or Smash without specific input from Coaches.
    2) There is a wide range of technological savvy amongst all the Coaches. There still remain many Luddites who have enough difficulty in simply filling out a template provided every single week, let alone get their lineups in on time, such that I can't expect them to accurately deliver more detailed information without creating additional problems.
    3) All picks are interconnected and dependent variables. Force Picks are both a by-product of prior Smash Picks and also the gambit of the opponent's Smash Pick vs. other options. In many cases, there are options within a Force Pick that can lead to varying results (such as taking a particular LB, CB, WR, TE over another amongst those available).

Some of the above goes away with the app (such as labor of sending lineups and the difficulty in tracking Smash vs. Force). I'm ok with instituting change once the app is in place, but while manual, unless someone else wants to administrate the identification of Smash or Force, I'd prefer to just leave it alone given the hours it takes me to deliver manually what I do every single week. To date, nobody's complained anyway going back to all last season.

    1. It would certainly require an S or and F to be placed before each pick. Higher math :)

Anyway, it's all good. Just seems wrong when it gets backed into like this week where Earl Thomas was surely the Smash and the winner was forced to take Rivers.

    2. I actually like the idea that a busted saddle can lead to Unique Pick. Also, you'd be surprised at how challenging putting a simple S or F can be for some folks. Really surprised lol
